Finding a tutorial for the complete beginner.

Is there a tutorial or documentations for the "complete beginner" similar to the one made for VB.net express but for SQL Express? I went over the Visual Web Developer Express tutorial but its only mention about sql was using the 'sqlcmd' command line tool with a copy and paste. What I'm looking for is actual docs on creating, editing, updating tables, records, etc. A GUI is what I'm really looking for; I tried using SQL Express Manager but it has no docs.
